Almost there!
With our new partners in ministry, we are very excited to be 95% funded for our term. We need onlt $360 more pledged monthly to be fully funded and ready for the field. We hope to be fully funded when we go to our final training in Colorado from Sept. 15 - Oct. 3rd and leave shortly after that. We are confident our visa will be processed and other factors will come together for this to happen. It is thilling to see God come through on His promises and finally have a near definite time for departure to Kenya! We are grateful for all of our partners in ministry. We are serving together.

Hope Christian Church, Avon, OH Hope Christian Church, Avon, OH

May 31st we visited with and made a presentation to the mission committee of Hope Christian Church in Avon, Ohio. We are excited that they have partnered with us in sharing the gospel with the Turkana. We had a great evening and were then introduced to the congregation at all three services on Sunday. Hope CC is a growing church expanding their involvement in missions. We are happy to be a part of their vision.

E. Tenth St. Church, Roanoke Rapids, NC

Our newest partner in ministry is East Tenth Street Church. They have a long history of supporting CMF's work in Turkana. They have supported two of our teammates and now are supporting us. We are excited to work together and look forward to getting to visit with them in September.

Food Production Training Food Production Training

Chad spent the first two weeks of May in North Carolina taking Food Production training through Equip International. It was very informative and eye opening as to the possibilities with applied technologies. The course covered:

  • Assessing nutritional dificiencies among people groups.
  • Agriculture techniques for humid and try tropics.
  • Techniques for sloped land - S.A.L.T.
  • Animal husbandry specific to goats, chickens, rabbits, and cattle.
  • Aquaculture and Aquaponics.
  • Methods to increase yields with third-world resources.
  • Solar cooking
  • Beekeeping.
  • Food preservation.
  • Cheesemaking.
  • Using soy to increase protein levels.
  • Providing complete nutrition for your own family in a remote region.

The coarse used to be three weeks and was condensed into two so the amount of information was at times overwhelming.  But Chad is already working on what techniques could be applicable in Turkana and even more excited to be able to get to the field and apply them.
